Syntropy Roadmap
Web3 and blockchain adoption is gaining momentum quickly. Over the next 18–24 months, Syntropy team will build a network infrastructure suitable for the environment operating at scale.
Over the last year, the Syntropy team has been building out the next major phases of the project. After releasing powerful technology and growing our team to include some of the best minds in the blockchain industry, we are now ready to share our roadmap and company direction.
Syntropy revolutionizes the Internet itself by decentralizing the telecommunications industry. We achieve this by establishing a global Open Internet Exchange powered by $NOIA and the Syntropy DARP Network. Why does this matter?
Web3 and blockchain adoption is gaining momentum quickly through the metaverse. Every major company, industry, and digital experience will soon be impacted by the metaverse and the technologies that enable it. However, there are still no networks that can support the requirements of a metaverse environment operating at scale. Simply by virtue of today’s networks’ dependencies on centralized infrastructure, the metaverse would not be public or trustless unless it incorporated Syntropy from the start.
Syntropy takes a different approach to solving the networking problems at the heart of the Web3 revolution. By improving the public Internet itself and creating new incentive mechanisms, Syntropy can drastically improve performance and stability for all Internet users.
Our technology stretches across the entirety of today’s internet, transitioning it from its current state as many competing, self-interested networks to a holistic, self-sustaining, group-oriented network of networks- giving birth to true Web3.
We expect the five phases below to play out over 18–24 months. Our team is building software and protocols that solve problems in new and novel ways, so innovation schedules and industry adoption will influence release timing. Having acknowledged that, we are confident that we will achieve the goals laid out in this roadmap. We will continue to release more detailed documentation and market analysis throughout the coming months and share this journey with all of you.
Phase I: Ecosystem Expansion
- Onboard First Enterprise Customer
- New Website
- Announce Web3 Partnerships
Syntropy’s immediate focus ahead of launching the Syntropy DARP Network and other future products is preparing our ecosystem and community for what’s in store. To achieve mass adoption of our Web3 protocols and the Syntropy DARP Network, we are investing in corporate partnerships and sales efforts to establish Syntropy’s technology in the B2B market.
Recently we announced that Entain (LSE: ENT) is using Syntropy to enhance their network, and we look forward to more enterprise companies following suit in the coming months. Every Syntropy Stack user we onboard at this stage becomes a potential client of the DARP Node Network in the future as a bandwidth user and/or provider, depending on their use case.
Syntropy will also be consolidating our corporate identity under a single website that supports our sales efforts while representing the full vision behind the potential of Syntropy to change the internet forever.
Phase II: New $NOIA Utility
- Syntropy Managed DARP Network Launch
- Release Stack Self Service
In this phase, Syntropy Stack will rebrand to dStack, cementing our commitment to building Web3 powered solutions. Users will be able to log into dStack with their crypto wallet, enabling the $NOIA utility within dStack. This is the beginning of expanding $NOIA utility and making $NOIA equivalent to bandwidth and connectivity potential across the Syntropy DARP Network.
Public users can utilize Syntropy DARP Network by holding $NOIA in their wallet connected to dStack. Nodes will be incentivized through $NOIA by Syntropy. We expect to be hands-on in preparing the Syntropy DARP Network to be adopted as a publicly available service on the global internet.
This project phase will involve releasing more specifics on how the Open Internet Exchange will be designed and more detailed tokenomics. While the Syntropy DARP Network is running, we will be collecting data, monitoring the network, and making tweaks to protocols to strengthen the service ahead of the release of the Open Internet Exchange and enabling public users to provide bandwidth to the Syntropy DARP Network.
The Syntropy DARP Network will be a crucial element in the technology stack for all high-bandwidth and high-priority traffic decentralized applications building products in Web3. Use cases such as metaverse gaming and multi-chain Defi require more resilient, high-performance networks that are also decentralized. Syntropy is one of very few projects in the market credibly solving these complicated problems.
Phase III: Decentralizing Governance and Evolving the Syntropy Amber Chain
- Introduce Governance Framework & DAO Roadmap
- Syntropy Chain
$NOIA will eventually be involved in governance and required to introduce and vote on initiatives. Our goal is that we can govern Syntropy’s public infrastructure as democratically as possible, and as such, we plan on making thoughtful decisions for DAO governance policies. Initially, the DAO will help seed community grants to projects building innovative solutions using Syntropy and DARP. As time goes on, the DAO will make more impactful protocol-level decisions about the Syntropy DARP Network and Syntropy Amber Chain so that the community can decide on major decisions that impact the community.
The Syntropy Blockchain will also become EVM compatible, opening up the Syntropy ecosystem to traffic and Web3 integrations with EVM compatible dApps. The Syntropy Amber Chain thus provides a solution to help scale high-transaction throughput networking use cases. It may also facilitate the connection and management of dApp infrastructure deployed across multiple chains, serving as a liquidity layer to settle transactions faster for multichain use cases. The Syntropy Blockchain will become a vital transactional layer for the metaverse and other Web3 use cases of dStack and the Syntropy DARP Network.
Phase IV: Building the Open Internet Exchange
- Launch Open Internet Exchange Beta
- Introduction of Stable Bandwidth Pricing
In this phase, Syntropy will have established dStack and the role of the Syntropy DAO in protocol governance. In preparation for the Public SDN to move out of Beta and be available for all internet users, our next aim will be to establish both the supply and demand sides of the Open Internet Exchange.
By representing Public SDN network ownership on-chain, Syntropy will be able to prime the Open Internet Exchange for operating at scale. We aim to separate the operation of DARP Nodes from the ownership of the Syntropy DARP Network. This more granular structure means that node operators won’t also have to be investors and that investors won’t also have to operate nodes. Regional bandwidth will be represented on-chain using NFTs to establish the supply-side of the Open Internet Exchange. Investors can, in turn, own part of the DARP Node Network and thus part of the internet itself, while more technical node operators will be able to compete based on the performance of their nodes for network rewards.
The Open Internet Exchange will outcompete traditional bandwidth markets by rebalancing incentives and making it easier for internet users to buy and sell connectivity in digital space. The Open Internet Exchange will realign incentives for all internet providers and users.
To meet industry requirements for scaling the demand side of the Open Internet Exchange, Syntropy will also introduce an on-chain mechanism to enforce stable pricing for bandwidth across the DARP Node Network. Enterprise-scale use cases will require that costs for connectivity and bandwidth are reliable, predictable, and tied to network capacity. $NOIA will be converted to bandwidth with predictable costs for users, streamlining enterprise adoption of the Syntropy DARP Node Network.
Phase V: Decentralizing Telecom
- Release Blockchain-Defined Networking Capabilities
In this phase, Syntropy begins to enable Blockchain Defined Networking features. This means that by using the Syntropy Blockchain, internet users and application owners will be able to deploy configurations and establish networks over the blockchain using completely decentralized methods. It is a massive milestone in the mission to decentralize the telecommunications industry and shift incentives on the internet to be user-focused.
At this stage in Syntropy’s evolution, we will also integrate at the messaging protocol layer of Web3 (for example, through LibP2P or other commonly used protocols). Syntropy can be adopted as a Layer 0 networking protocol by every major L1/L2 blockchain and other decentralized peer-to-peer communities. As the Syntropy DARP Network scales, we expect to achieve broad adoption across the metaverse and Web3. We will deliver more performance, stability, and security than a private network in a fully public and decentralized way.
We look forward to fleshing out the implications of Blockchain Defined Networking in the future, as we know that with proper adoption, Syntropy can radically improve the infrastructure of the internet itself for enterprises and individuals alike.
